Attention Foster Grandparents

The St. Croix Tribal Head Start is always looking for volunteers. 

Mondays - Thursdays

7:45 AM to 4:15 PM

The busiest times are from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with group activities.  Volunteers are always encourages during this time.

There are also many family nights, pow-wows, and other events when volunteers are encouraged.  See the Tribal Head Start Calendar for 2015-2016 dates.

The head start has a list of all foster grandparents who may volunteer at any time.  Miigwech!

Our Mission: To care for and educate children in a positive and encouraging learning environment reflecting Ojibwe culture where children and families feel safe and respected.

St. Croix Tribal Head Start:

  • Is FREE for eligible families
  • Serves children who are 3 or 4 years old as of September 1
  • Supports the social, emotional and developmental growth of the children in our care
  • Provides high quality learning experiences, field trips and cultural activites
  • Serves children living in and around the St. Croix communities (with Native American preference given)
  • Welcomes children with special needs
  • Makes every effort to provide transportation to enrolled children
  • Provides a nutritious breakfast, lunch and a snack each day
  • Encourages parents/guardians to become involved with and make decisions about the program
